GRAMMAR. 2. CONDITIONAL.

The "type 2 conditional" is used to refer to a hypothetical or unlikely condition and its probable outcome.

The second conditional is used to imagine present or future situations that are impossible or unlikely in reality.

If we had a garden, we could have a cat.
If I won a lot of money, I'd buy a big house in the country.
I wouldn't worry if I were you.

The structure is usually: if + past simple >> + would + infinitive. 

When if is followed by the verb be, it is grammatically correct to say if I wereif he wereif she were and if it were. However, it is also common to hear these structures with was, especially in the he/she form.

If I were you, I wouldn't mention it.
If she was prime minister, she would invest more money in schools.
He would travel more if he was younger.




VOCABULARY.

Screens.
big hole.
Nightmare.

Example: 

 If I  found and phone , I woul keep it.

I would keep it, if I found and phone.



GRAMMAR-  3 . CONDITIONAL.

We use the third conditional 

(if + past perfect, would + have + past participle)

 to talk about something in the past that did not happen.

Examples
  • If it had rained, you would have gotten wet.
  • You would have gotten wet if it had rained.
  • You would have passed your exam if you had worked harder.
  • If you had worked harder, you would have passed your exam.
  • I would have believed you if you hadn't lied to me before.
